Alison's life is complicated. Two failed marriages and two children, one of whom is only a small baby. The last thing Alison needs is another man in her life. She's determined to be independent and stand on her own two feet. She's due to kick-start her career and begin her new life. However, that's not easy when handsome cop Johnny Rhay Bennett swaggers into her life. Falling for him after a one-night stand is not in Alison's plans. But, his good looks, kind heart and sexy Nashville drawl soon reel her in. When Alison's life is suddenly turned upside down by those that would harm her family by kidnapping her baby, she soon finds herself relying on Johnny. His support and bravery soon sweep her off her feet and the wall she has built up around her heart is in danger of tumbling down.
Johnny himself finds that the course of true love doesn't run smoothly but he has fallen head over heals for Alison and her ready made family. At last, Johnny Rhay has a real shot at a happy ever after. Hovering in the background is the slimy and unscrupulous ex husband Carl. What exactly are Carl's intentions now towards Alison? He is surely up to no good and can Johnny protect Alison and the children from Carl? Johnny is torn between respecting Alison's wishes to be independent and the real fear he has for her safety. He soon discovers just how stubborn she can be!
Precious Embrace is the second book in the series by Dana Mason. Alison and Johnny-Rhay were characters from the first book, albeit fairly secondary characters then. However, Precious Embrace tells their story and develops the characters further. Dana Mason has a real talent for creating wonderfully sexy and kind hearted men in her books. The sort of men that makes you want to lick the pages of the book! The sort of men that get the reader all hot and bothered. Sorry, getting a bit carried away here. Precious Embrace is essentially a romantic thriller with nail-biting tension and tastefully done sex scenes. It explores the difficulty and complexity of finding love when you have been so badly let down in the past and makes you want to scream at the characters to get their act together! I loved this book. I adore a good thriller and this book certainly delivered. Well done Dana Mason!
