SYNOPSIS
Previously published as Astral Travelling, The Avatar And Me. This is the revamped version with an extra chapter. In 2000 my life hit rock bottom. Emotionally I was totally spent and did not see any way out of the mire that I found myself in. This book tells the story of how (with a little help) I managed to turn my life around. Miraculously at the onset of the new millennium I started to embark on a series of truly amazing out of body adventures, and as the years have gone by, I have learned to pass through solid objects, propel myself in whatever direction I wish to travel, and unbelievably, "will" myself back into my body when I become bored with the journey. As if that wasn't incredible enough, I have also been blessed by the Avatar of the age himself, Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who first entered my life in 2001. Since then I have had a series of truly wondrous experiences with Baba, the highlights of which were being held in his arms during an out of body experience in 2006 and seeing him in physical form at his ashram, Prasanthi Nilayam (abode of the highest peace) in Puttaparthi, Southern India in October 2009. "If I were to say that it was a hairy experience the first time I left my body, it would be an understatement. However, as time went by it was something that I came to enjoy immensely."

Extract

I was transported to what looked like a small chapel.  There was an older man who looked in such a sorry state.  He seemed to be wearing a mask that covered half his face.  There was also a young girl who ushered me into a row where I stood with her and the man.  I seem to remember her saying something like “you need to stand here”.  It was as if she knew that I didn't have a clue what was going on and she was showing me the ropes.  I took this to be some kind of hall of learning, but there was nobody else about."

"My operation was quite an experience too.  I lay on the couch on my back and Stephen chatted to me for a few moments.  I then felt as though he was manipulating my stomach area on the right hand side. It felt very uncomfortable but not painful.  In an instant it was all over.  Because I didn't watch I wasn't aware of everything that occurred. But, my friend told me that he had taken a scalpel and cut me.  He had then made a motion as though he had removed something and tossed it into a bin."

"I then heard a voice that came through with interference; a bit like those annoying psychic programmes on the TV, where they paint an inaccurate picture of spiritual communication in order to create drama.  It was like the sound you get when trying to tune a radio in.  Then there was another woman with a Geordie accent, but I couldn't see her very clearly.  By this time I was thinking that this was not the type of astral experience that I wanted."

 About The Author

Richard is an author, healer, medium, speaker, workshop facilitator and teacher of spiritual awareness. Although he believes that every moment of every day for every human being is part of the spiritual journey, Richard finally found what he calls his official spiritual pathway at the beginning of 2001, after many years battling with depression and alcohol abuse. During workshops and private one-to-one consultations Richard uses his intuition to connect with clients at soul level and also calls upon the depths of his own life experience to help them to heal the past and progress along their own spiritual pathways.

As someone who suffered with a very low self-esteem for many years, a large part of Richard’s work involves helping others to overcome the same obstacle. He helps people to look beyond the illusion of the physical world and to seek out the Divinity that is the true Self, thus instilling within them the mind-set that they really do have worth, and something of value to offer the world.

Richard has been working as a medium, giving public demonstrations of clairvoyance, since 2002. However, these days, having realised the power of the written word, he considers himself a writer before anything else and uses his writing talents via his blog and social media sites to reach out to people all around the world. He has written eight spiritual publications, produced five meditation CDs and three CDs of mantra chanting. There are plans in 2013 for three more books and at least three more CDs.

“My mission in life is to inspire belief in people so that they may manifest their highest dreams as their reality, enabling their fullest potential to be illuminated” ~ Richard Holmes
