However, unbeknown to Kara, she is being watched from the shadows. Her fate is to take a terrifying new twist and Kara's life depends on others to save her from a terrible and terrifying ordeal. She is kidnapped by someone called Roland, who is trying to plant memories in her head and who appears to know everything about her. Who is this frightening stranger and why has he come into Kara's life? Little does Kara know, but he has always been in her life!
I just loved this book. I adore a psychological thriller and this book did not disappoint. The descriptions of Kara's imprisonment and her confusion are very well written and the setting for the story - the power plant - provides such a creepy backdrop. I could almost feel the hairs on the back of my neck prickle during the descriptions of the dark and damp corners of the building with its maze like layout. This is a very cleverly written book with an interesting back story and ever developing plot. The development of some of the characters of the book is surprising and courage comes from those characters you least expect. This book explores the fragility of a relationship between a mother and daughter and the secrets between them. The consequence of such secrets? Death and fear! I could imagine this book being made into a movie. It's a very suspenseful story full of plot twists. I'd highly recommend it! This is the second book I have read my Melissa Foster and I am definitely now a firm fan of her work!
